Happy Valentine

It was Friday, February 12, 2010. My school celebrated Valentine’s Day in different ways for each grade. It was one of many unforgotten moments with the kids for me. They were so happy. They were so enthusiastic. I loved this atmosphere! Love was in the air…

Dylan, one of my kids came to me. He gave me a plastic bag.
Dylan: “Miss Lyan, I have chocolate.”
Me: “Ooo yea… who is it for?”
Dylan: “For you and Miss Endah.”
Me: “Really?”
Dylan: “Yea…”
Me: “Is it from you to us?”
Dylan: “Yea… happy valentine, Miss Lyan.”
Me: “Thank you, Dyl!”
Dylan: “You’re welcome.”
Me: “Happy Valentine, too…!”
(Then I hugged him and gave a kiss on his head. And he smiled.)

Well, Valentine’s Day is a moment when we show our love to others.
Love is in the air during this moment… husband and wife, parents and children, brother and sister, grandparents and grandchildren, friends, working partner …

Love is in the air during this moment… anywhere, anyone …

But… I think…
We don’t need to wait for Valentine’s Day to let someone know that we love him/her, right?
We don’t need Valentine’s Day just to say, “I love you,” right?

Let everyday be Valentine’s Day…

Ps: You don’t need to do that to show that you love your teacher, Dyl… I knew it already from your eyes, dear…
