The Leaves Have Eyes

It was a windy afternoon.
I saw Maxwell standing near the sink at the playground.
He observed some leaves.
The leaves were spinning because the wind blew it.

"Hi, Max."
"Hi, Miss."
"What are you doing here?"
No answer. He kept observing the leaves seriously.
"The leaves are spinning ya."
"Yes, it's moving."
We both were quite looking at those moving and spinning leaves.

"The leaves have eyes."
"The leaves have eyes? Are you sure, Max?"
"Yea..."
"Mmm... How do you know?"
No answer. He still looked at those leaves attentively.
"I can't see their eyes."
"I can see."
"Show it to me then."
"This one doesn't have eyes," he said while pointing to a leave in front of us.
"What about that one?" I asked while pointing to the other leave.
"That one has."
"Ooo... really? I just know it."
"The leaves has eyes, Miss. That's why they can move."
"And spin?"
"Yep."
"No, Max. It's because the wind blow it. The leaves move and spin because the wind blow it. Just like your hair when the wind blow it."

He turned his head to see me for a while after my explanation. Then, he continued observing those leaves.

They are so innocent... :)

That's why I love teaching young children.
